A bottom is the person receiving pain/pleasure/other in the context of a Bdsm scene.
A submissive is role one enjoys in a relationship. And this is where it gets fun. My submissive is my submissive in the context of our relationship. When we go to a Bdsm party and play, while we are playing she is my bottom. Our relationship hasn’t changed (she’s still my submissive) but the act she is performing is now as a bottom. If you want to know your role you have to be honest with yourself. Now is not the time to look at gender, religious or cultural stereotypes. Ask yourself which end of this question makes you feel more comfortable and happy: “Can you pick up x items at the store on your way home?” There are some people who just know what they are. And there are others who take the time to explore their wants and needs. The only wrong way to do things is if you lie to yourself about your wants and needs. DW |
