The rambling muttering of an old man.

Today's Topic

Unlike Memorial Day where we remember those we have lost, Today we remember our Brothers and Sisters who survived their service to this country.  All I ask is that those who truly appreciate that service, ask their local ... state and federal elected officials what they are doing TODAY to end homelessness and hunger and employment issues of veterans in their constituency.  C'mon people break out that social media and make them address the issue publicly.

spoiler alert ... Yes ... it's called Thrombophilia and the genetic version is called Factor 5 Leiden.  In short, Hemophilia = can't clot ... Thrombophilia = can't stop clotting

If you want to learn more, follow the link.  It might save your life - Thrombophilia and Factor 5 can kill.

And yes, I know this isn't about Memorial Day ... But, I haven't figured out how to change the name of the blog.

I want to thank MLB for remembering the fallen today,  ALL Major League teams wore poppies on their shirts today in remembrance to this nations fallen.  And, to remind all of you it's not too late to dedicate a poppy to a fallen vet ... just see my previous blog to find the link that will take you to the site.  We all know of a relative or friend who died in service to their country ... or, maybe you just know of a friend who lost a family member ... please, get the vet's name and dedicate a poppy to that vet.  And, don't forget to thank the vet's family for their sacrifice ... thanks once again.

I would appreciate it very much if each of you would take the time to learn the name of a veteran from your community or home town who died is service to their country (no matter what the war or conflict) and dedicate a poppy at the following address ...

To date, this country has lost enough of its service members in combat to fill 16 Stadiums.

Again, my sincere thanks for your time.

As I posted in Kiev's Blog, This is my opportunity to thank my brothers and sisters in uniform and all those of you who consider yourselves part of our on-line family.  Everyone who put on the uniform of any branch of the military knew the ultimate risk you took ... clerks, mechanics, and medicos to name but a few ... ALL shared the risk and were important ... if you hadn't been there, none of us would have had planes to climb into ... nor would we have had hope of surviving if we made it back.  Most of my Cage family has heard me talk of my health issues that result from my service ... I urge you to remember that all those who served were important ... not just those of us who climbed into those planes or picked up a rifle.  And, all of you are important as well ... since we couldn't do it without your support.  And finally, please remember to thank the families of those who served.
