Below you will find THE CAGE privacy policy which outlines what information we collect when you use our services (website, app, mobile applications, etc.). We explain what information we store and otherwise use and how to delete that information if you so choose. We only collect information required to provide the various services that the site has to offer and to monitor usage and interactions. None of the information collected is used for profiling or for ad targeting.
For example, profile details are only used to construct a user profile page, and to make relevant user’s appearance in our member search results.
During the registration process we ask for your email address. The prime use of this address is to identify you if you happen to lose their password, and in any other case of communication outside THE CAGE. In this case we will send you an email with a link to verify that the address is yours. Users are not able to enter the site before we have verified their email. For security we encourage you not to use your primary email, but an alternative one. We will never use your email address other than internally for the purposes mentioned here.
For the sole purpose of protecting our users from fraud, fake nicks, bots, duplicates and scammers, we have made phone verification mandatory during the registration process. After requesting your phone number we send that number a pass code to verify it. We then check to see if your number has already been registered with us. If the phone number is in use you won’t be to complete registration. No other use is made with this phone number. We keep phone numbers apart from the rest of the site data for the duration of membership. We may keep phone numbers for longer duration if we feel it is required for the safety of our users.
We collect most of your data directly from you, we keep the amount of mandatory data to the minimum needed to operate the services we offer to you.

We use browser cookies and similar means to recognize you when you return to THE CAGE. THE CAGE does not track you across the internet. We only track you when you visit THE CAGE in order to offer you the best service possible.

THE CAGE collects and stores information about its users in order to improve the overall experience of the services. THE CAGE is a community website that promotes content sharing and interaction such as blogs, forums, personal messages etc. For these public services the information is collected, processed, and saved.
THE CAGE will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary. THE CAGE is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for income tax and audit purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices. Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.
Logged-in users may choose to interact publicly with THE CAGE community by liking a post or comment, following blogs, sharing links, or writing original posts. THE CAGE retains personal data associated with your account for the lifetime of your account. if you would like to delete your personal information you can delete your account at any time. Deleted account profile pages will yield an error 404 “file not found” page, immediately upon initiating deletion, and will become unrecoverable in our system after a period of 30 days.
We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to “unsubscribe” from further messages from us. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.
To delete your payment or billing information, you will need to do so with your payment provider, as THE CAGE only has minimal secure access to those records as needed to provide the services.

To protect information in case you may wish to return and/or to protect you from accidental or malicious deletion or manipulation of your account, we may maintain some of your information for a brief time. However, after a time, your information and content will be unrecoverable.
Sharing of information laid out in Section 6 sometimes involves cross-border data transfers, for instance to the United States of America and other jurisdictions. As an example, where the service allows for users to be located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), their personal information is transferred to countries outside of the EEA. THE CAGE and it’s services are restricted to users aged 18 or older. We do not permit anyone under the age of 18 to use our services and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. We require all of our users to immediately report any user who is underage. Please use the report feature or contact a staff member immediately if you detect anyone under the age of 18 on THE CAGE platform.
THE CAGE reserves the right to change or update this policy. We'll notify you about significant changes.
