What do you think of this & porn in general?

I haven’t watched the clip because I avoid porn in general.

This story which broke in 2021 highlights some of the ways in which porn platforms become vehicles for people to post abuse of women and children.

‘How is it possible that videos of child pornography, sex-trafficked persons, rapes, assaults, and other outrageous abuses have been openly available throughout the Internet, right under our noses, on Pornhub? While recent news reports examining Pornhub’s misdeeds were shocking for many, it made clear what the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) has been calling attention to for years: sexual exploitation has moved online. And not only has it moved online, it has exploded and thrived there.

In response to allegations that its site showed videos of child abuse and nonconsensual sexual abuse, Pornhub removed millions of explicit videos—taking the number of videos on the site down from roughly 13.5 million to 3 million. The website said it would bar unverified uploaders from adding new content and eliminate the ability to download most videos. It has removed all previously uploaded content that was not created by Pornhub’s verified content partners or members of its adult performer network.’

Abuse has also been uncovered in the French porn industry

‘The French porn industry is facing its moment of reckoning. A two-year police investigation has blown the lid off widespread abuse of vulnerable women. A Senate report is now aiming to improve conditions by bringing about stricter controls. In this show, we meet three women who are trying to change the way the adult film industry in France operates.’

I do think porn, in some instances, portrays the abuse of women. As long as these instances exist, supporting the industry by viewing porn is not something I want to engage in.

My overall view is that modern porn is a phase we are going through. Not to say it is going to play out and disappear, but that it is all part of the learning process, individually and as a group. It is a double edged sword. I fucking love it, but some of it gross and most of it is just bad. But, one major upside to porn I see no one talk about is female empowerment, liberation and choice. Even I as a young man didn't really know anything about multiple female orgasms and squirting until my partner started spontaneously doing both (and neither did she). Even when porn was really gaining steam on the internet, the existence of female squirting orgasms was in debate lol. A lot of the women I've been with were relatively frigid. I meet younger women now and they are educated, multiply orgasmic, sometimes squirters, but they at least know the possibilities of their bodies better. They also have a wide range of options to choose from. I think that most importantly, they can find content of females getting off really hard on whatever it is that fires them up. There is still a lot of porn that is super boring with actresses just going through the motions for the check, but there are WAY more examples of enthusiastic women thoroughly enjoying the scene and cumming hard. That is important to see, when women can so easily slip into a more or less frigid state and might have a hard time finding that level of pleasure vy feeling their way through the dark with men that are not educated either. Some of this applies to men too, and I think it will more as more options expand for them and become more popular, like pegging and prostate stimulation, or relational/mental scenarios. But for women I can really see a difference in the education level and attitudes now.

That is not to say there is not a big and dangerous dark side. There is and it can be very bad for consumers and actors, especially actresses. Porn can obviously create unrealistic expectations and misrepresent real human interactions. Young, dumb men (sorry, they're all dumb when young, I was one icon_smile.gif are going to easily misread BDSM porn. But I don't think that means we stop making and watching it, we improve it and bring heart to it. There is only one solution to most of humanities problems, the general elevation of personal and group consciousness. Think of a problem, inject more conscious behavior into it and it gets better. Porn at this point, is just another scenario we can learn from when we are ready for the lessons. It is not going away no matter how morally outraged people are, or what laws are passed. Illegal and exploitative porn will continue and in general, it will be a reflection of us as a whole and the best and worst parts of humanity. If I were not busy with other things, I would want to build a well known presence doing something like very unique reality BDSM porn that tries to set an example and raise the bar. More $ for participants, transparency about relations and consent (which some outfits do already), and just overall quality. Basically, I think good people need to make more porn and create contrast regarding what is possible.

I also think it is a mistake to try to over categorize or divide the concepts of porn and erotica. The very negative feminism I grew up around, and the religious right already tried that lol (together by the way, they teamed up in the 80's, strange bedfellows indeed). You can't legislate or enforce ethics or conscious behavior. We can just educate and improve and grow. If you don't like porn/erotica as it is, don't watch it. If you think it sucks, consider making it better, or support those that are. If you don't like the dark exploitative side of it, keep being a better and better person to elevate us as a species as you interact in the world.

It's porn!

There's always going to be a "Karen" out there blasting professional company's. There's always going to be a disgruntled model that claims that she was abused. Looking for a lawsuit, attention or whatever. The website is FACIALABUSE.COM. Why complain when you signed up for such a site that is clearly about abuse and hardcore sex. Most of the models on these sites enjoy it and they come back for a second helping!
