Enema Questions

Ken TT(sadist male) • Aug 13, 2026
I got so much good information from my post about rimming lubes , that I thought I would get some information from experienced enema givers. So I would like to start giving my wife enemas prior to anal. I've done so here and there in the past with mixed results. I always finger her asshole for quite a while before I fuck her, and I know that typically she has some dried up turds in her rectum. This rarely causes a problem other than perhaps a little chocolate on the head of my cock when I pull out, no big deal.

I'd like to do it for several reasons, first just as a power thing, second is to clean her out in third to have some fun.

So my questions are:

1. What is something good to add to the water for an effective cleansing enema? I would also like it to be pleasant for her.

2. I realize everybody is different, but typically, how much volume is a normal enema and how much will make her uncomfortable, but not cause an accident.

3. What is the best device, it seems like the old hanging red enema bag and just a regular nozzle should be adequate.

Thanks, Ken

I did it for two years with my former dominant. I did it once a week before we met. I discovered that there was a point of diminishing returns whereby the procedure brought down more material from higher in my intestines and actually caused more mess than it prevented. This could have been a result of using too much water, but others experiences may vary.

I never added anything--just plain water. I did some research at the time and the general advice was that enemas weren't necessary nor beneficial for the recipient's health for the purpose of hygiene during anal sex. The advice was to modify the recipient's diet instead to cause the person's bowel movements to become firmer and evacuate more completely, thereby leaving the anus and rectum cleaner in general.

I have verified this for myself related to my diet, so in future I would say enemas will mostly be for control and play, not for cleanliness. That's my take on it based on my experience.

That would be what I think, first third of the rectum if required (using a Douche), deeper, and prolonged, regular use, can mess up the natural state of the rectum - which isn't desirable.

Unless you plan using really long toys or do fisting, for most regular anal play and sex you need to clean out rectum only - the last part of colon, from 'bend' leading to sigmoid colon on 'deeper' end to anal canal (no laughs, please, this is real name). While diet might help some, the best is to ensure rectum and anal canal are clean. However, as B L O N D I E wrote, you do not want to bring content from upper parts on colon down to rectum. That is why, if your only goal is to prepare for anal play, you should do few flushes with with small amount of water rather than one, bigger enema.
Since anatomy varies between individuals, the 'right' amount is personal, between 0.5 to even 1qts (0.5 to 1L).

As for enemas, volume can be from 1.5qts (most common bags) to whatever one can take. Most adults, unless they have some medical or anatomical issues, can safely take 3L, provided they had BM before, but for novice it will be very challenging and most likely unpleasant experience. People into 'high volume' do 4 - 4.5L. Some claim more, but I have not done it personally.

Most common solutions:
- plain water, best for low volumes, causes cramps due to quick absorption
- soapy water, causes cramps and irritation and very strong urge to expel
- salted water, if 9g/L then it is isotonic and limits absorption resulting in less cramps

Of course, people do try many other mixtures and even alcohol but that is risky. Especially alcohol, as due to quick absorption it is possible to cause severe intoxication and even OD. I strongly advise not to try it at all.

Another important factor is water temperature, this applies to both flushing/douching and enemas. Never use hot water, 40 Celsius, 104F is safe max. Cooler water will cause stronger cramps. And 3-4L of really cold can cause hypothermia.

And finally, for enemas, rate of flow is important too, faster the water gets it, the more unpleasant and crampy it gets.

Thanks for the great replies! It gives me some things to think about. I do have a bulb so I can do just the rectum, I'll try that and see how it goes.

I would also like to give her a larger enema not to prepare for anal but just to make her uncomfortable. I'll start off with a pint and see how that goes.

Thanks, Ken
