Halloween Horror Challenge

Excellent! You cannot go wrong with any of Lugosi's vampire films.

As usual, I had to go in a completely off-the-wall way and choose 2000's "Dracula The Dark Prince" by Joe Chappelle (of Halloween 6 fame). It is a surprisingly well done historical fiction about Vlad the Impaler with hints of vampirism laced throughout. Rudolph Martin is an oft-neglected, but underrated, Dracula.

It is after midnight now so the new category is... GOOD WITCH!

To be honest, I do not know many witch movies and Friday and Saturday are both witch themes. Grrr.

The obvious choice is The Craft. Another witch movie is Teen Witch (located at the very bottom of your local Walmart's $3 bin).

I will need to get back to you on this one.

Witchboard...The Witches...Wizard of Oz?

Now I ramble...

I wonder, even though I have my Good Witch movie picked already... I do see that Halloween Town is trending right now lol. One of my favs, but would it go under the Good Witch category? If so, haha... I may just have my first switch up on movies.

Eastwick! How'd I forget about Eastwick! D'oh!

Ok. Now I've had some time to think about it, I have a couple more witch titles. Mostly they fall under bad witch, though.

Gretel & Hansel
Suspiria
Blair Witch series (duh, Z! How'd you forget that one?)
Practical Magic (that's my wife talking) (good witch)
Hocus Pocus
Dark Shadows (Burton's version)
Night of Dark Shadows (from the 70s)
Troll (good witch)
Halloweentown (thanks Onyxkore, and yeah, good witch)
Sabrina the Teenage Witch (in all its incarnations, good witch)
Bewitched (if you can stomach this subpar comedy, good witch)

Ok. I feel better now.

There is the Hallmark Channel series literally called "The Good Witch" (Catherine Bell is so discreetly sensual). They did make a TV movie episode of it, so technically it counts as a movie. Or you could binge watch the series and pretend that it is a really looong movie, lol.

p.s. loved watching the Halloweentown movies with my little niece too!

Alright, so this isn't the most "Hallowe'en" or really October-y film, but I'm watching Kiki's Delivery Service for my Good Witch night.

My Bad Witch choice was a gambit on a low-budget indie film called "Conjurer" about a ghost witch haunting a young couple. I lost that gambit. It was very very boring. Oh well.

Tonight's theme is "Ghosts Did It!"

I am definitely watching John Carpenter's The Fog. May also cram in some of that Haunting of Bly House series on Netflix if I have the time.

So, folks, what do you have for Ghost movies?

Stir of Echoes?
The Others?
A Christmas Carol? (the new version that aired on FX last year definitely counts as horror)

Tonight's theme:

Creepy Crawlies!

This is such a fun and broad category. You really could go anywhere with this!

Slither
Shivers (this is my pick!)
Puppet Master (Leech Woman gets her own category!)
The Tingler (a William Castle classic)
The Creepshow movies have plenty of crawlies.
Jason Goes To Hell (where Jason is just a slug)

Please let us know your ideas on this one!
