She stands in silent protest
Mind and body clashing
Waging there war of fear and uncertainty
She waits in the darkness
Her body shivers
Her hands clenched
Her mind a flooded shore with waves of anxiety
I silent whisper floats in the darkness
A whisper she says to fight back her fears
“I can do this “
She repeats it like a mantra
She feels exposed
Her mind and body naked and vulnerable
Her legs quiver fighting to stay in place where she was commanded
Moments feeling draw on in infinite time
Her chest rises rapidly the heart beneath it beating a rhythm of need and desire
A door opens
Footsteps approach
Body stiffens
Mind wild like flames in the forest
His presence felt behind
Her mind exploding in panic
Then the voice comes
It speaks to her
Soft like a melody
“Are you ready”
Mind clears
Body relaxes
Heart stops
All fear flows away
And the moment stops
The answer comes with a confidence she know not where it comes from
But it does
And the answer is determined and powerful
“Yes sir”
