I was in the mall parking lot. Staring at what broke me. That car, that stupid red slut car. I’ve never hated an object before. I kicked the fender hard enough to leave a dent. Pain flooded my foot but I ignored it. I turned around walking towards my car. “Who pissed you off?” A husky voice filled my ears.As I look up I see a tall man leaning on my vehicle. “Your on my car.” I stopped walking with my phone in hand. “Well It’s a nice car, however your foot seemed to have taken a liking to that one.” He snapped pointing behind me. I rolled my eyes and he tensed up. I glared at him. “Well it’s non of your business, so if you will move that would be nice.” I started walking to my car and he moved aside. I grabbed my keys and went inside preparing to slam the door when he caught it. “You know, a normal person would call the police about what you did.” He stared into my eyes. His were a dark brown, almost black. “I’m guessing you not normal huh?” I ask sarcastically. He grinned “You have no idea.” He slammed my door and I turned my car on. I look for him as I pulled out but he wasn’t around, fog was thick.
“Please you have to come! It won’t be the same without you!” Hazels curls bounced with each word as she begged. I sighed, “You know I don’t like pool party’s.” I finished icing the cake with pink and white frosting. “You don’t even have to swim, please! It’s my birthday!” He got on her knees and held my thighs, I shiver when down my spine at the sight. I giggled “What on earth are u doing? Get up!” She looked up at me. “I am officially begging you, please come to my birthday pool party? Just for a little!” I laughed and helped her up. “Okay fine, but no swimming.” She jumped and hugged me. I felt her curls kiss my check as she let go.
It was the night of the pool party and I planned on not staying long. I was gonna be here for hazel. She was after all like a sister to me, Childhood friends. I opened my bedroom door. Okay a outfit, nothing that screams I’m a slut, but I’m not a good girl either. I picked out my teal tight dress with my black sandals. I brushed my long hair and put my choke collar on. I walked out of my room and see hazel wearing her bikini. She was stick thin. She looked at me her eyes wide. “Your not suppose to look better than me!” She pouted. I laughed and hugged her. “Oh sis no one can out dress you.” She let go of me and smiled, “okay, if u say so! Come on it’s starting!” She pulled me outside where the party was happening, alcohol was everywhere, people were splashing and laughing. She ran to the cake as everyone sang her happy birthday.
After helping 3 girls puke in the rest room I was ready to head to bed, I walked into my room, eyes feeling heavy. “Have you lost more weight? How is that possible?” That voice. That voice that haunted my dreams, that woke me sweating and running to the toilet heaving. I looked up, my heart in my stomach. I couldn’t move, I don’t think I was even breathing. He took a step towards me. MOVE! I screamed inside my head. Just turn around and run. It’s that easy. I couldn’t break eye contact with him. He grinned at me and we were now a foot from each other. “Wanna start off where we left?” Scotts breath smelled of alcohol badly, he grab my wrist hard enough to make me whimper. “She’s not starting anything with you.” The warm husky voice filled the room. Scott’s grip on my wrist tighten and I shuttered at the pain. “Stop!” I managed to say. All of a sudden Scott was on the floor, mouth open in pain but no sound coming out, then he was gone. Dark shadows filled the room floor and everything went black.
My room, but I was on the floor, above me was the man. “Get up slowly.” I obeyed feeling dizzy. Sitting on my bed he walked across the room. “What? How? What-“ “There are things you need to know and don’t need to know, this is one you don’t need to know yet. Be patient with me and I’ll tell you what u need to know.” I looked up at his eyes, no longer dark but filled with rage. “What’s your name?” I asked feeling light headed. “Mason.” He sighed and looked at me. “Come here.” Without thinking I stud up. Not knowing why. He wrapped his arms around me, feeling very uncomfortable I started pushing him away. But before I could speak, the ground slipped from underneath me and all I could see was black. I closed my eyes. “Open ur eyes now.” As I did so the room had changed. We were standing in a room, no walls though, just open air, flowing curtains and a large bed. My heart sank. He let go of me. “You need to rest. There is a change of clothes on the bed. I will be back in the morning and expect you down for breakfast.” He started walking away but stopped as I spoke.”Why am I here? What’s happening?” He took a step to me and I took one back. “Don’t be frighten of me grace, I’m not your enemy but the opposite, get some rest and I’ll explain some in the morning.” How does he know my name? But before I could speak he was gone. I barley made it to bed when I passed out. Sleep washing over
I awoke to sunlight beaming through the curtains. With a change of clothes I walk out of my room and down the stairs. Out led a table, and there sat mason on the far side. Still dizzy I walked to the table seeing breakfast. “Sit. Eat.” He gesturing to the food. I sat on the other side of the table away from him. I picked up my water and had a sip. “Take me home.” I looked at him with piercing eyes. “No.” He said softly continuing to eat eggs. I balled my hands in fists “I said take me home!” Darkness filled the room and he was now an inch from my face. I held my breath. “You will not speak to me like that in my own home, you are to stay here. You don’t want me to take u home grace. Believe me.” As fast as the darkness came it left the room. I look down, seeing food on my plate. “Eat.” He sat in his chair. I slowly started taking bites. The flavor overwhelmingly! Different then normal. I almost moaned at the taste. “Why wouldn’t I want to go home?” Carefully I drank more water. “There are things to discus. For one. Don’t worry about Scott he’s gone.” I took another bite. “What did u do.” He took a breath and looked at me. Softness in his eyes. “Dometrie, that’s what it’s called. I’m able to get in the minds of humans and crush it, mend it, do whatever.” I finished my plate and water. Now full for once in a very long time. “Humans?” Was all I said. Mason laughed. Actually laughed. “From everything I just said, humans, was all you question about?” Crossing the room I stud next to his chair. He got up, towering over me, mason grabbed my collar and slid it over my head. Taking it off. “Don’t wear this anymore.” He ordered. I shuck my head agreeing. Why was I doing everything he asked. What’s wrong with me? Was he in my head too then? Mason looked at me with calmness in his eyes. “hold still.” He moved closer to me, I couldn’t breathe again, fear filled my eyes and I felt like I was sinking. “This is overwhelming I can tell, but time will explain, you need to trust me though.” He held out a hand, trusting him came naturally as he saved me from ‘him’ I dared say him name, even saying makes me feel like he won. His name burned in my head. “I trust you. But I’m scared.” He smiled and picked me up. Holding one arm under my knee caps and the other on my back. “Like I said, Stay still.” The darkness came again filling the room and the ground was gone. I looked up at him, close, he was so close to me. Mason smelled of woods, I breathed him in slightly, warm, he was so warm. He made eye contact with me and sighed. Darkness left and he put me down on the ground. We were in a dark room, bigger then the one I slept in. “You are to lay here and not make a sound.” I obeyed, though still not knowing why. I walked to the the soft pillow nest on the floor, surprisingly soft. I slowly laid down, my dress baring my thighs, I blushed making eye contact with Mason. His eyes turned gold, like smoke on a glass. I gasped, but before I could say anything, a crash fell behind me. I tensed up. But I couldn’t move. Masons eyes filled with fire rage. Sharp pain rushed to my head. *Trust me* the words filled my head and in my ears. “What did you bring me Mason?”
