Strip club beats post-Covid blues

Although it calls itself a ‘cabaret,’ I know fully well what Rick’s Cabaret New York is… which is certainly fine by me. As it should be fine, I feel, by any adult. The women entertaining at Manhattans’ venerable high-end strip club and the patrons coming in to enjoy a drink, like me, and grab some food at the place’s steakhouse located right there in their midtown location are all adults too.
And as adults, we get to do adult things.

And damn well should, now more than ever!

Debating moralists or the current spate of women empowerment groupies groups, as I enjoyed Rick’s presenting their annual “girls of summer” post-baseball game parties and reading all about their upcoming post-fourth “Beach Party Weekend,” (which I surely will return for) I was reminded of what we all should be doing right now. Whether in a mall, at a party, at our local Starbucks, and yes, in a high-end New York strip club…we should all be out and about, enjoying life, seizing the day.

COVID-19 nearly took all of us humans--men, women, everybody, from my quiet little New York ‘burb to anywhere around the world--out of the game of life. The pandemic curtailed seeing loved one's living our lives, and going out and about. And no matter how much you did or did not believe in the danger of it all, many places were closed, enforced truncated hours of operation, or were simply unpopulated. For the most part, the human race had about two-and-half-years where we picked up and left the game of life…and it sickened me more than when I actually came down with the VID (which took me a mere four days during Thanksgiving 2022 to get over; I guess I was lucky)

The point is, now more than ever, we should all be out and about enjoying life, one another, and our pleasures, no matter where we find them or what they be. If I chose to have a few drinks at a ‘gentlemen’s cabaret,’ as much enjoy watching a baseball game as a flute of champagne, and yes, the sights and sounds (especially the sights) one can’t help but spy at a club like Rick’s, then so be it.
I didn’t look for acceptance before March 2021, and I won’t now.

Seize the day? Screw that. Seize life with a hottie dancing in your lap.
