Tarotable Me

Welcome to my blog. From post to post, may everything that is shared from this space be in an effort to improve, encourage and grow.

Photos of Tarot draws and their guided explanation will be posted in the photos of my profile.

To see the card and images from today's blog post, check out the photos on my blog. They are listed there.

To give a little background, I approach tarot from a place of intuition (which is particularly strong for me). I have quite a number of tarot sets, and I can't use a random set. I am drawn intuitively to the set that I will pull from. I have sets that I have bought for myself, like The Light Seers deck (my go to deck--meaning I always feel something with it), and I have a number of sets that my family has accumulated over several years out of curiosity or particular love of imagery. Most are very well done. Most have had a lot of love invested into their creation by their author. It is with deepest respect for their authors and artists that I share them with you. I will always list the credits for each deck.

When I draw a card, it is after a brief meditation, and I speak my intention for the pull. For example, this morning the intention spoken was to pull a card that would speak directly to this community and be playful (given it is Saturday). I feel the card that was drawn (image side down) perfectly met the intention.

Deck Title: Cosmic C*nt Tarot

Author: Samantha West

Publisher: Rockpool (rockpoolpublishing.co)

Card: Lovers

Summary: "You thought this was going to be something sexy and romantic, didn't you? Sorry! The Lovers don't represent a sexy love affair, but rather duality. A choice. There are two (possibly sexy) paths laid out in front of you. Which are you going to take? Give it a lot of thought before you take the next step."

This deck is more abbreviated than the previous deck. It is a good deck when needing a quick message.

Should you be so inclined to purchase a tarot card set for yourself, PLEASE be aware that there is a lot of intellectual property theft of card decks. If you aren't purchasing the deck directly from the publisher or author, and perhaps are buying it on Amazon (which is ok, I've done both), be sure the deck is an authentic edition. It should come in a box with a guidebook. Aside from the ethical considerations of buying a "knock off," the quality of such cards are usually very bad. I have held a pirated deck. You can tell they aren't authentic. The quality is not there such as blurry images, poor color intensity, and thin cards that don't handle as a tarot deck should.

I have also read that to participate in intellectual property theft is to steal part of the soul of the author (something to that effect). Reading that made a mark on my very soul, so again, it is with deepest respect for the author and artists involved with this deck that I share their invested love and beautiful creation.

fluffypoppet(sub female){Protected} - Neat deck. I like pulling a card every day too. :)

Lady Kat(dom female) - I’m also an intuitive reader, my favorite for use is the antique anatomy deck, but for the art, the Starman deck is fantastic!
