After McDonald's introduced the quarter pounder (1/4 lbs of meat), A&W brought out their Third of a Pound (1/3 lbs) Cheeseburger, in competition.
However, A&W quit selling theirs because they were not selling. People were saying A&W's burgers were smaller because 3 was smaller than 4.
