If you can dream with a broken mind,
And love with a broken heart,
The world is filled with your treasure,
For someone able to still live after such pain,
Will go forth into the world and extinguish it,
For they have walked on ashy coals,
And willingly will hold you above them,
To make sure no heat tampers flesh,
For the measure they will go,
Is the same they have felt,
The kindest and happiest are born,
Not of light, rainbows or love,
But clouds, rain and grief,
They walked through shadowed valleys,
They saw evil and looked them eye to eye,
They are protectors!
Who had no one to hold a shield for them!
Who went to the front line and said No!
You will not do this again,
Those smiles are testaments to scars,
And HORRORS, you will never see!
Because they will not allow it,
So when big gentle creatures radiate such immense happiness,
Remember there is a core in there that someone didn't love,
Someone may have thrown away,
They may have doors you can't see and they will never open,
Because they locked them away,
Some lose the battle,
Some become the war,
And some pick up armor,
So you don't hurt anymore.....
Bless those who are caring,
Even after utter defeat,
Bless those who are kind,
When people can't even see,
Bless those with honor,
When they where given none,
Bless each and every fallen,
Who battle was never won....
