So, once again I turn to my blog,
And yet again, I say to the friends, Thank YOU for all your support and emails. Talking with me helps a LOT. You encourage me through my times that I fail to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone that may be new to this site and sees this blog, may wonder what I'm talking about, I'll explain quickly, (Those that know me, turn away briefly, as you don't want a repeat!)
I suffer from PTSD due to law enforcement duties and emergency services. Chronic pain in my back and arms is a constant and so is insomnia. So needless to say, I am up a lot.
With that said, I'm writing a novel with a co-author, and now have until October to get it out. My research has stalled and I'm in panic mode. (But Rich, that's eleven months away! What are you worried about?) You may ask.
Well, the quandary lies in the history of the civil war, the railroads of the times, and the trails westward. One would think that finding historians to reach out to would be easy right? Well, actually, not so much. This novel is now five years in the making, and it is part one of a two part series, and I've already shared our new illustrators vision of our characters. So yeah, I'm a bit panicked because I'm the so called assigned historian on this project.
With THAT said, I always, ALWAYS find solace in the following video. It soothes me. I'm sure you've heard of the Foo Fighters, but have you heard of the Rockin' 1000? When I first saw this video, I remember saying to myself "damn, this band will go places!". I watch it each time I need to overcome, improvise and adapt. They were originally organized in a crowdfunding effort by Fabio Zaffagnini. Their initial performance in 2015 was made under the direction of Marco Sabiu (cited from wiki)
As for the band itself, They are mostly from Italy, and Fabio created it to beg the Foo Fighters to come and play in Italy for them because they had not toured there.
For those that have seen this, pardon the post, and please go on, for those that have not; get the goosebumps!
Now, Please enjoy, Learn to Fly, by One Thousand musicians, playing in a field of green in July of 2015, overcoming great odds. If Fabio can do this, I can do a lot of things!!
