Saturday lunch is family time and very informal I put my oldest uniform on because I would be training with my new partner after. When I got downstairs there were people and kids when I spotted Jane I asked her what's going on. She informed me that Saturday afternoons were for the family's of the ranch hands to come enjoy the pool have lunch and the kids to play that's nice of him to let you do that she laughed and said me he started this before I came here permanently he loves the sound of children, then her eyes clouded and said I wish I could have given him that. When I spotted Tim he was with Jim and upset so I asked what was wrong, he was upset that it was nasty that chose me that horse hates every one and everything it will only listen to warhorse and wolf and that only because she was bested by both of them in a fight. Tim I want warhorse and wolf in the coral when you train them and were your pistil any problems kill it.
When I got to the stable Tim was waiting. He showed me how to put the armor on nasty its a combo of Kevlar and cotton it protects the horse you can tell she did not like it but I think understood it was for her. Then I put the saddle on and she perked up eager to show her stuff when I mounted she turned her head to me to make sure I was set and started out of the door she stopped partway out and looked both ways spotted warhorse and wolf and gave a little huff that must have spoke volumes to them both and saw them relax. I will not go into grate detail but I will say this horse was built for war he showed me how to make her kick front or back bite with enough force to snap bones or kill how to dismount and fight one way while she protected my back and me hers she will lay down and let me use her for protection if I am hurt she will lay down so that I can crawl in her saddle and wait for me to put all the straps on to hold me before standing and walking. She is an amazing partner. I was later to learn to trust her senses as being better then mine and be able to tell what she means. She was 4 years old when she came to me Tim told me that he had been teaching her for two years he said she was the smartest next to warhorse he had ever seen and unfortunately she knows it and wont work with anyone but him and now you. And now not even him she has made her chose as partner. It took two weeks for us to bond and have been together for eight years that means I will have to let her go free soon and find another partner. but she has more then earned a retirement of oats hay and freedom to run. As a mater of fact she has already chosen her replacement her daughter from warhorse is ready to pick her rider like her mother she is a bitch to the others but a lamb with me. so this month I will work with her under warhorse and her mothers eye just to make sure she behaves herself.
