The jack pine is a type of pine that needs fire to burn the resin from the shell for the pods to release its seed.
When I was young, I went through the fires of war like the pine it left me naked and open. I was lucky others were burned completely never to recover and could no longer spread their seed. I was not left untouched by the fire it left me resentful and with anger I could find no way to release safely. I chanced upon a man who took pity on me and had me follow him, he showed me a way to stay safe while I let it out, but he also taught me that it took someone very special to take my release one who would crave its release. He said it would take time and I would have to wait and search for the one. So, I learned first the control I needed to protect myself and them. When I was ready, he showed me the tools I needed to master this I was to learn was harder than it looked and more painful for his way of teaching meant I would have to learn the feel of every one of those tools and learn the limits of those who would receive the application of those tools. He said I must learn something called empathy, so I knew what they were feeling. This newly found sense had a second effect on me I found my resentment reduced for anyone who allowed this done to them intentionally had to love and trust me. When I said this to him, he smiled and said good it is time for you to learn the most important lesson responsibility for them. And the care needed.
He showed me first the care that they would need after. He then told me of the responsibilities, and the trust he was putting on my shoulders. Remember from the moment you put your hand to someone you take the responsibility for them. The moment you take them in bond to you that responsibility become a lifetime commitment and no matter what they can come back to you.
