If someone is writes you and says that they are so-and-so's friend and they'd love to play...
Make sure you check back with so-and-so to find out info and ensure that this reference is legit.
And if you're the one giving the reference...make sure it's ok to use someone's name before you do. Otherwise, you could end up with a very, very negative referal.
