it means different things here.
different things in this new world.
inflicted wounds.
some desired some not.
Undeserved. Unwanted.
Pain covered
in cruelty
and loss
and heartbreak.
Pain teaches
lessons.
some we could live without.
For some of us
the paddles and straps
gather dust
while we mourn for all that is lost
all the unfair, unnecessary, unasked for.
