This is what started it all. I wanted to make my bestie a gift for his birthday. We like things a little dark, I apologize. I bought these statues and "repurposed" them. Hardest part was getting the last one to say pieces instead of peace.
After that I started to collect broken an discarded statues. Cleaning them up an reshaping them. And yes, painting them. I was so very proud of this first creation. It's what made others ask me to paint an remodel some of their statues. I'll have to dig those pictures up to share.
This new hobby of mine also drew in my mother's attention. She wanted one of my statues, but refused one that was "dark". So I picked up this one. I struggled a bit to stay focused on this statue. The only part I really enjoyed was her face. It took me a long time to get it perfect and doll like.
Needless to say I haven't kept up with that hobby. I have a bunch of statues left to fix up an paint. I had a few requests I've done, but really nothing further.
