I normally only sleep about four-five hours. Sometimes less. So I could be awake at 2:30am if I went to sleep at 10 (like I was this am). I do get tired some during the day.
Plus my job isn't exactly redundant (I do medical coding)....but I sit remote all day except for 10 hour days mon-thurs.

In this case, I'd say he is mandaring bedtime for a good reason. He will probably also restrict screen time at night. He will make these changes slowly so as to not shock you too much and have you fight against the restrictions. Frankly, in this, I kinda agree with him.
On the plus side........you and him will be on the same sleep cycle so he can judge from how HE feels about how YOU are feeling.
