Switch it Up!

Switch It Up is a discussion group focused on switches and various BDSM topics.
A top is simply someone who leads/guides the scene and the bottom is there to receive the experience. However, what if you like to play both roles? You might be a switch. Switches are the Swiss army knives of the kink world; versatile. We can be either role depending on who we are playing with, sometimes even both in a single scene (ever see a switch fight?).

The switches group isn't restricted to just switches (See? We can't make up our minds even on who can attend). If you are a dom, a sub, or undecided, or just a kinkster in general and just want to come to ask questions, everyone is welcome to attend. It doesn't matter how you identify in any way or what your experience level is; all are welcome!
If you have never been to the Denver Sanctuary, attending one of the discussion groups is a great, low-key way to check out the club.

So come join us for an evening of discussion, education, and community.

Facilitators
Switch it Up is facilitated by SwitchJake. Jake presents both locally and nationally and has been a staff member of the Denver Sanctuary for a number of years.

What's discussed?
Instead of having a specific topic each month, SwitchJake lets the group decide what they want to discuss at each meeting from the following list of topics. Of course, if you have questions that are not encompassed in any of these, bring them to the meeting and they can be discussed.

1 - Role Adaptability in Changing Dynamics:
How do switches adapt their roles in response to changes in their personal lives or relationships?
Discuss the challenges and benefits of this adaptability in long-term dynamics.

2 - Switching and Emotional Intimacy:
Explore the impact of switching roles on emotional intimacy in relationships.
How does being a switch influence the way you connect emotionally with different partners?

3 - Public Perception vs. Personal Reality of Switching:
How do public perceptions of switching compare to your personal experiences?
Discuss ways to educate others within the BDSM community about the complexities of being a switch.

4 - The Role of Rituals in Switching:
What rituals (if any) do you use to transition between dominant and submissive roles?
Share the significance and impact of these rituals on your mental and emotional state.

5 - Switching and Scene Negotiation:
Discuss the intricacies and challenges of scene negotiation as a switch.
Share tips and strategies for effective communication and ensuring all parties' needs are met.

6 - Impact of External Stress on Role Preference:
How does external stress (work, family, social obligations) affect your preference for dominant or submissive roles?
Share strategies for managing these influences.

7 - Switching in Long-Distance Relationships:
Explore the unique challenges and opportunities of being a switch in a long-distance BDSM relationship.
How do you maintain balance and satisfaction in your roles from a distance?

8 - Cultural and Societal Influences on Switch Identity:
Discuss how cultural or societal backgrounds have influenced your understanding and acceptance of your switch identity.
Share experiences of acceptance or resistance you’ve encountered in different contexts.

9 - Switching and Personal Growth:
Reflect on the ways being a switch has contributed to your personal growth and understanding of yourself.
How has embracing your switch identity impacted other areas of your life?

10 - The Future of Switching:
