2FA stands for Two-Factor Authentication. It’s an extra step, in addition to your password, that helps protect your account. Even if someone learns your password, they can’t sign in without completing this second step.
When you sign in and enter your password, you will be sent a verification email with a secure link and a 6-digit code. Clicking the link or entering the code completes your sign-in. It’s fast and easy. Once confirmed, your device is remembered for about 90 days so you usually won’t be asked for 2FA again on that device during that time.
You will be asked for 2FA when signing in on a device we haven’t seen before, or if it has been about 90 days since your last confirmation.
Each device you use will need to complete 2FA the first time you sign in. After that, the device is remembered for about 90 days, so you usually won’t be asked again on that device during that time.
Start sign-in again and request a new email. For your safety, verification links and codes expire quickly.
Since 2FA on THE CAGE works through your email, you’ll need access to that email account to sign in. If you’ve lost access, you’ll first need to recover your email account through your email provider. If you are unable to recover it, please contact our Support Team at support@thecage.co
Logging out ends your session. If you didn’t choose “Remember me,” closing the browser signs you out. Your device usually stays trusted for about 90 days, so you won’t be asked for 2FA again during that time.
Change your password. Other devices will be signed out and will need to complete 2FA again.
If you’re concerned, change your password.
Staff will never ask you for your 2FA code or send you a link outside of the normal sign-in process. If you receive a message asking for your login details or codes, do not respond and report it right away.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps keep your account secure by adding an extra layer of protection. If you prefer to turn it off, you can do so in Preferences > Info. Keep in mind that this will reduce the security of your account.
