Training Methods

Have any Masters/Doms/Mistresses ever used sensory and or sleep deprivation in training a slave or sub? I am curious as to the effectiveness of using those methods.

No.
Absolutely not.

Sleep deprivation leads to the inability to consent. Is an abusive tactic utilized for abusive and manipulative ends. I see it over and over to the detriment of the slaves well being.

Sleep deprivation cause of the same effects as inebriation. I. E. Not able to consent.

How would you use sensory deprivation in training?

Ahh.
So no.

For me training is all about making sure to ensure their success. They need to have all of their wits about them to learn what it is that I'm going to be requiring of them. I want them to be completely engaged.

Training is also a time where I don't use punishment. Punishments completely off the table so that way the slave can focus at the task at hand.

I don't use any form of taking anything away from them during training. What they are learning can be very complex. I want them to be able to be completely present.

In both of my relationships my wives were naturally(very) submissive. Looking back I think over time our relationship evolved. Perhaps the training took place and neither of us knew it was taking place. Our roles just felt natural.

Even when the roles feel very natural. The concept of training is for them to be able to learn your expectations.

They can't learn your expectations if they're in pain, they're hungry, they're distracted, they're so anxious over the outcome they can't get anything right.

I completely agree with you when it comes to these things feeling very natural. It did for me and my beloved.

However, training, even when the roles are natural, can help both you and your s type grow.

I'm not a (as defined) "real" sub. I'm a sexual masochist so perhaps my 2 cents aren't really wanted, but this is an open forum so I'll throw in anyway,

Masterbear is right.. Deprivation doesn't work-- except maybe in edging to make me squirt-- Give me the pain and pleasure that I crave and I'm all yours. . On demand.

Baer is right sleep deprivation is used mostly now a days to breakdown someone.

However, in monasticism sleep deprivation and other forms were training exercises in self control.

If you want to do it to practice self control with someone you trust ok.

If it is part of some sex game. Don't do it at all.
