Protecting Your Privacy Online

With website hacking, internet trolls, and employer morality clauses, privacy online is of the utmost importance. So what steps do you take to protect your privacy while still engaging with others and benefiting from some fantastic online resources?  And what steps do you expect from communities like The Cage, if any?

For me it's simply a matter of not putting any information out there that I wouldn't be willing to publicly announce. I will never bare my soul in a blog or post any specific details in a profile.  I don't mind if people know my identity or if they have an idea of my kink as long as I choose who knows the details. I don't hide my activities, but I don't flaunt them either.
