Geographical differences personals - is it JUST us Brits ?

Hey all,
not to offend ANYONE on here, but generally speaking whilst trawling through the features of the site as a newbie, realised the personals are a great way to break the ice.
However,
Is it me, or is there a genuine reluctance from us Brits to advertise and request personals?
Admittedly it brings back fond memories of reading the for sale / swap notice boards backin't day in Presto and Tesco stores, but by comparison our American Kinksters, it appears we are missing out 'potentially' and they are way up there (ok I know there's a good few million population difference!)

whilst we all use the chat and Msg function, knowing what each and every one of us is after and desires doesn't always coincide with being on line and the search function for the UK is somewhat limited (Yorkshire is missing, what? Gods own Country, omitted, Shocking lol)

Just a thought and I wonder how many of us actually use the personals a means to seek out initial contact based on the information posted? Or is it the basic search and perv each and every profile in the UK lol.

could it be because British law does not recognize the possibility of consenting to actual bodily harm. Such acts are illegal, even between consenting adults, and these laws are enforced? Maybe? I've found with a lot of Adult sites, that many in the UK choose not to "advertise" as it can then be linked back to themselves.

There are few places in the world where bdsm activity has any degree of legal permission to practice, in most the state says its not ok, and adults consenting to such is no protection from possible prosecution. The state feels it must protect us from ourselves.

I think that isnt the factor here, its more likely that most serious, experienced practitioners know that personals dont bring more than wannabe fantasists and few, if any, have much success with advertising here or anywhere else.

If anyone has met anyone that wasnt a massive disappointment via a personals ad please come tell us.

Of course not advertising, and random meets here or elsewhere can also bring great disappointment. In the time I am here the number of poor encounters far outweighs the good ones, but the good ones, the few special ones were very good, and one such random convo, about VAC beds of all things, has grown, developed over two and a half years, and become a wonderful relationship. I think this one, makes all the other bad ones, the wanabess, fantasists, crazies, ghosters, involvements that sadly went wrong, or off, or timezone differences killed, a fair price to pay for the magic that is found in Savida.

I was very lucky to encounter someone so lovely, and that I get on with so well, and complement, as she does me. I think I will be doing very well if I meet anyone else on here, or elsewhere who comes close. As unlikely, as that might be to my mind, lightning may strike twice, time will tell.
