I had a sub who was considering becoming a webcam "model" (yes, that is actually what they are called) and this is what I can tell you -
It is for the most part very tame, at most it is light-core porn-ish but rarely much more than that, and being able to interact with other live people, not just the models themselves but the rest of the users present, isn't the most unseemly thing a person could do. But there are 2 important points that this conversation seems to be overlooking: 1. It is not necessary to pay any money at all - to the site or the models or anyone else associated with it - in order to watch. In fact there are some models who do very explicit stuff, without charging a thing, yet are oftentimes paid by people so that they will *continue* doing all that explicit stuff. One could even call that a pretty clever tactic. In this case it effectively makes it a free show for everyone else. 2. As I understand it the models walk away with a very small percentage of the money generated by those users who do pay. The majority goes to the companies. So only the most popular models can actually make anything approaching a living from it. It can be an easy part-time job to make a little pocket change, but not lucrative in the slightest. Which is why my former sub never did it. Just too much time, too little payoff. |
