How to protect yourself online

Hi peeps.
Ive had a think recently about how many of us communicate online and share images and messages. Every so often you find advertising for this lifestyle in places you might not want it or email can be hacked and private images obtained.

I have some ideas of how we can make sure our data is safe ..... i know many women who would not want there pictures used to create CGI deep fake porn. We aren't in the 90s anymore.

So ....
Encrypted email with a vpn.
A global vpn which means you can move your location to another country ( i find this facinating when googling) but the vpn encrypts you data.

What does that mean?
Encrypted email is the post box, the vpn is the delivery driver.
Onion layer encrypted and kill switch are good ideas too.

Clear you cookies and your browsing history regularly. You can also mess the algorithm up by playing stupidest things i can find and just search for random crap until it makes you laugh with the absurdity of the internet. icon_smile.gif

Messages...your messages (i don't know about here) but even if the message or image is gone from your screen it can and often is held in a data bank... to be sold to the highest bidder. I didn't realise how bad it was and now feel like a walking data farm and no the irony is not lost on me when im putting this up on the internet.

So again message encrypted apps are not a bad idea.
- encrypted email
-vpn
-encripted messaging app, check the encryption.

Hope this might help. I put this up as i started to think of what it was like growing up with the internet and trying to find the actual bdsm community. There are many fakes out there who just wanted images, even during teen years. After finding out about how things are collected and sold i realised they might not just ask for photos anymore they might just buy them from data collection instead when you think your sending photos to someone you trust and love.

So yes i hope this helps x

It's all based on the human condition of not trusting others and not being able to be trusted.

Dont use your personal email, use a piggy back.
Dont post your real pict, use a drawing or design.
Dont meet irl EVER after meeting online

Keep to these basic regulations and you'll be as safe at home as any introvert and probably die alone as long as the world keeps throwing out different Covid variances when the vaccine was based on the original

I agree as personal security is essential especially now and for those who value their identity. For anyone interested some very goof encrypted apps for messages and image sharing are:
- Wickr Me
- Signal

The last part with die alone and corona was really unconstructive and not necessary. As for the not meet people off the Internet, how do then suggest getting to know someone?

Most doms I have encountered have involuntarily given me their clear names, as they gave me their phone numbers and their identity was made visible by doing so in another app. What people also forget is with a clear headshot AI can give me your social accounts in no time.

That's your mistrust issues talking. I know plenty of people that have happy and healthy real life relationships after meeting online.

Just make sure that those people treat you like the real person you are first. I make sure that happens.

Trying to "escape" is the biggest danger of all. Because that fuels depression and self loathing. It's being weak because you can't handle reality.

It's much more healthier to try and understand people (even online), which can be done quickly and efficiently. However, some people will have more issues, trust/mistrust ones included. Which prompts more communication as a result.

On the flip side, if someone says little yet shows zero doubt or assumptions and is always honest when you ask a question, that's a giving understanding person. If someone goes out of their way to make you happy and hit all your buttons easily without saying much, they don't have "mistrust". Provided you don't lie and keep secrets or worry irrationally, you can make that go very well.

It's not that trust needs to be established. That comes of it's own accord. The issue is and always has been when people MIStrust. Two very different things. Sort out mistrust and it will lead to trust. Just got to focus on the reasons and ask why 1000 times. They can argue with you, but ask them a question and they can't argue with themselves.
