I've had a few.
It's a good reminder that it's a requirement on this site to keep peaceful, which means that even what you might say in a message is being monitored. It wasnt exactly in the fine print that such extreme measures would be taken, but that feature alone makes this place better than most other site.

Indeed we just detected and blocked a couple of attempts to spam the site with links to an external site, mostly thanks to user reporting.

Thank you to all the caring community members who report!

I had two of those last year. The message was expunged and the stiff.. I mean staff people wrote that it was removed as being from a "possibly malicious user". I was consumed with curiousity but they wouldn't spill on the message contents.

And a quick profile check revealed that the senders were no longer on the site.

There's another site unrelated to social networking that I am a member in. It is dedicated to a "sandbox" style video game called The Sims. I saw where they got absolutely hammered by 'bots for a couple weeks that advertised "escort services" in Seoul, South Korea... and not even in English.

That shit festival kept their admins really busy those 2 weeks.

...So while Cage might get peppered by a spammer here and there, it's pretty lucky to not have to fend off legions of span 'bots
