Just joined- Need some insight

Morning people. I’m not sure if this is even the right spot to post this. I’m just looking for a run down on this site.

First impressions it seems dead.

Thank you xxo

It ebbs and flows often with the seasons, it seems. The nicer it is outside the less many are inclined to stay inside with a computer or bury their faces in smartphones.

The forums at times have a lot of things to read and even post to if one feels they can contribute something that helps. Other times not so much. of late I haven't posted much because I don't really have anything useful to add to many of the threads

Not sure what you mean by "rundown of the site" As in how it works"? or whether it's always "dead" (that also depends on ones point of view and what they're looking for of course)
It is not intended to be a dating site (but has a personals section and a chat room for those so-inclined) More this site is a place to meet and converse with like-minded folks... Fellow Freaks.

Not sure if that helps at all but that's my 2 cents.

Good morning,

First rule of fight club . . .

But seriously, you've been on the site for a few hours. Give it time. This place is an ebb and flow. Some days are more active than others and I find the more active I am the more active the site is for me. I would add the world is starting to open back up from the last two years, so it'll settle into a new norm, including here.

I've never heard of the site being called tinder. Like all sites, there is definitely opportunity to meet like minded individuals and discuss lifestyles . . . and from there I've seen several dynamics sync up and evolve. And there are definitely people looking here. But I would say give the site at least 12 hours before deciding its dead.

All the best

This site definitely has less people and is not as “porny” as Fet, so if that’s what you’re used to it can seem dead. Check out the blogs. There’s usually something interesting there to read or comment on. Interact and get to know like minded people and you just might start to enjoy it. Maybe you’ll eventually find a partner too like some of us have.
Best of luck to you!

My insight -
You should take more than 40 minutes on your first day to decide that the site is either dead or alive. Especially in the early morning when so many of us here in North America are maybe just waking up, or getting ready for work, or trying to get the kids ready for school. For whatever reason maybe some people haven't had time to do anything here yet today. It's also worth considering that since about 1/3 of the world is asleep at any given time of the day the people that live in those parts are probably not very active here at that hour.
In your profile you compare thecage to Tinder. It is unclear why you would think that this site is anything like that one, but if part of your first impression is based on that you may wish to reevaluate your expectations.
I've been here for over 2 and a half years. I like it. Give it more time and you may find that you like it too.

‘A traveler came upon an old farmer hoeing in his field beside the road. Eager to rest his feet, the wanderer hailed the countryman, who seemed happy enough to straighten his back and talk for a moment.
"What sort of people live in the next town?" asked the stranger.

"What were the people like where you've come from?" replied the farmer, answering the question with another question.

"They were a bad lot. Troublemakers all, and lazy too. The most selfish people in the world, and not a one of them to be trusted. I'm happy to be leaving the scoundrels."

"Is that so?" replied the old farmer. "Well, I'm afraid that you'll find the same sort in the next town.

Disappointed, the traveler trudged on his way, and the farmer returned to his work.

Some time later another stranger, coming from the same direction, hailed the farmer, and they stopped to talk. "What sort of people live in the next town?" he asked.

"What were the people like where you've come from?" replied the farmer once again.

"They were the best people in the world. Hard working, honest, and friendly. I'm sorry to be leaving them."

"Fear not," said the farmer. "You'll find the same sort in the next town.’
