Rope bondage

I'm looking to practice rope bondage on myself, to feel grounded and in a better head space. I've never touched ropes, and I'm an absolute beginner.
I'm not looking to jump into it immediately. But after some knowledge and preparation, I would like to try it. Please suggest me articles, books, educational videos that I can read/watch to understand better before practicing it on myself. Your advice is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I personally enjoy using Hospital Grade or quality leather, and restraints myself during D/s play. I just feel that they are much safer than ropes which can cut off circulation if left on too long or during struggles!
