Conductive Rope

lambsoneVerified Account • Sep 17, 2024
I just saw someone mention in the Rope Bondage Forum on Fetlife about using Conductive Rope for electrical play. Does anyone have experience with this or heard anything about it? What do you believe to be the pros and cons of it?

Discuss.

The only difference between it and non conducting is that. Its used with violet wands either through the wand energising the rope directly electrode to the rope surface or I think with a body conract cable energising the rope. I have not played with/used one, so can’t say how it feels in use, though as the rope would be tight to the body, therefore not off the skin enough to cause sparks to the skin, I am not sure how it would work, or what benefit it would have.

Hopefully someone here has that experience and can say.

I wouldn't touch that (pun intended) with a nine foot rope. It just sounds like severe electrocution and injury waiting to happen.

Good idea. It takes someone who knows what they're doing and a sub/masochist who digs it.

The closest I ever got to enduring that is some smart ass who deliberately shuffled his shod feet on a carpet in winter (dry air) and zapped one of my tits with his hand half or so inches away.

--------------------

He didn't do that to me again when we hooked up the next time because when I gave him head, I finished with a nice little rake job on his schlong. No damage, his tool wasn't put in his drawer for a healing period but he got the message.

Other than that a little "scrape" on the way out was reserved for when I gave D T and the fucker wouldn't let me take a breath right away. Bastards. Alas a tale for another time, except it's relevant to my past electrical experience.

As its high frequency and assuming the bottom has no health issues, or battery operated medical implants, then it’s perfectly safe, whether they like the sensation or not is a different matter. Modern solid state devices, common in beauty spas and home use (as well as kink use) feels prickly, modern or vintage devices where the hf is created analogue via a mechanical vibrating wagners hammer, feels smoother and less prickly.

As long as certain safety factors are taken into account, all electrodes and body contact cables, toys having a functional spark gap, its safe, electrocution not a thing that can happen unless the device goes faulty, or someone uses the device stupidly, like a certain person did historically, who killed themselves by attaching a cable to a radiator.

I would imagine that it's no more dangerous than some of the other kinks people get involved in.

@dollMaker
Thank you for the helpful information and the additional link.

I’ve been in conductive rope many times, and as a masochist who enjoys electrical play, it’s absolutely fantastic. 🥰

My preference is conductive bamboo rope. You can get it from Twisted Monk and Kinbaku Studio when they have it in stock. It’s usually a conductive thread woven into the rope. Sometimes you can barely see it and other times it looks metallic. You can use a violet wand hand attachment or a TENS unit - Twisted Monk’s website provides instructions.

The pain level is based on the violet wand or TENS setting and where the rope is placed. The wand is usually more intense for me. And rope on the inner thigh hurts more than the outer, as you might expect.

Someone described it as prickly which is a good word for it. It feels like tiny teeth nibbling at me. ☺️

DyeAddictRope sells conductive jute, but I’ve never tried it. The Violet Wand store sells conductive rope as well, but it’s nothing like the rope I mentioned above, and I’d recommend buying it somewhere else.

I hope this helped. 🙂
