What are some of the most potent virtual classes You've

Mourn(dom male) • Sep 25, 2024
Good morning,

My name is Mourn, a learning Dom from Chicago. My main kink currently is education.
That said, Ive been to 3 conventions, volunteering at 3 more and Im always on the lookout for good instructors or classes to attend, especially virtually (paid or free, but free is preferred). What are some of the best instructors or classes you've attended online, can you share their instructor name, class link, etc if you have one in mind?

One of the Best I've seen recently was Queen Velvet Amythyst on Dirty Talk (interactive):

I think Some of her classes are (free):
https://fetlife.com/events/1593087

While others are Masterclasses (Paid):
https://fetlife.com/events/1593842
https://fetlife.com/events/1593842

But seriously, Ive shared, do you guys have any instructors you follow on TikTok, Reddit, Fet, Discord, etc?
Ive got so much to learn and there are so many options, so I prefer to attend things that others found very helpful or informative.

Let me know

Respectfully,
Mourn

Back when we first got the internet (late '99 for me") there was not much on BDSM. Then as time went on and doors opened up wow I found there was so much I did not know and did not want to know. I am just thankful now that there are videos and chat rooms where you can go to find things out.

I have seen many new "players" who have hurt or gotten hurt by not knowing what was really going on. I find it better to get to know what to do or not to do before I try something new. As I tell friends I am a "try sexual" I will try almost anything once. Twice if it is kinky.

I have attended peer to peer training events but only given by people who have a good, ethical reputation, including a few internationally recognised educators. I prefer in person, and even better if one has the opportunity to get one on one hands on teaching.

In general regarding 'virtual' as you put it, I am very sceptical regarding anything said, simply because virtual paper refuses nothing. So I tend to watch content carefully (you tube only) over a period of time, and weed out the fakers, fantasists, ignorant and the chancers. Regarding sound content on that platform, Loving BDSM are, so far, solid, ethical people with good advice, and Morgan Thorne, not as active as she was, has a very sound back catalogue of videos, opinion pieces and workshops featuring various activities. There are others I watch, such as Submissives Guide, but Luna isn't as active as she once was, Watts The Safeword (mostly good, but too often done for a laugh) and the related more serious channel On Guard Cigar Salon, Bondage Tuition (excellent for rope bondage tutorials) and San Francisco Leathermen's Discussion Group which often has interesting interviews and workshops on various activities. Playful TV also often has interesting interviews.

I am aware there are other people doing bdsm themed stuff on You Tube, including some well known names, some I don't know, and some, including well known personalities I don't rate.

For the most part I read books, books written by well known educators, peer reviewed and tried and good over a long period of time. The Loving Dominant, Screw The Roses Send Me the Thorns, The New Topping Book, The New Bottoming Book and others.

Good luck on your journey.

I hear that, Im open to trying many things. When I started I was unable to DO anything, because I quickly realized i didnt KNOW anything.
I am too large and too strong, to just be FLAILING in the dark, imo...so my first 2-3 years in the community were focused on solo research, reading and Q&A with Kinksters. After doing that for a while I've encountered a couple great instructors. Just curious if ppl have resources, sites, books, instructors, conventions they highly recommend and can share with me ( I WILL check them out lol )

Ty for sharing your experience Kelpi.
Any solid advice you would give to a newer Kinkster being someone with more experience??

Thank you very much, So far, I was finding that my city is taking a longer time to find mentor/s, or find my sealegs, a Club in LA was very foundational in my growth and still are. I also met Auntie Vice, who is an international scale educator and author in the space with about 30+ years of experience. She's also been stellar in regards to pointing me towards good education and opportunities, for growth. I appreciate the sends, Im going to make a small list (Curriculum) and start working through some of that content. You scrutinize your data collection, verify and validate it over time. Heard. I will continue to have a qualitative approach to my lifestyle experiences, whether it be play, education, etc.

Thanks for chiming in DollMaker.

I'm an education gremlin, can't have enough I feel. I like to watch on YouTube Evie Lupine. Her voice might be a little difficult for some to listen to. I LOVE XR-University. They have their own website, used to be on YouTube but naturally their stuff got booted off for the uhh... Endings they do. Hahaha.

Evie used to be a watch of mine, then she started saying stuff that didn't sit well with me, including fake it till you make it vibes which considering much bdsm activity can leave serious injuries if done badly, life changing even fatal, I think saying that is irresponsible so I moved on from her - and yes I did by accident see a more recent video, still don't rate her.

XR University tutorial videos are good, seen them on you tube originally, and on their own website.

I haven't watched Evie in awhile because her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. That's why I don't like following a lot of these people on social media is suddenly the real parts of them start leaking through. Not all...but quite a few. Back in 2016 when I got back into the lifestyle there was this YouTuber guy named Jay something. He would say things that just didn't sit right and I assumed at that time " what a stupid thing just to say it for clout 🙄" come to find out it was NOT for clout, unfortunately. 😥
