You want something Stigmatized?

Try this: Being a Dom when working a low/mid level retail job.

There's something no one wants a part of. Everyone thinks every Dom (just the males mind you) should be a suited lawyer or Doctor or Cop or Fireman or what have you. If you are entry level, then you must not be very authoritative or forceful, or have any leadership abilities.

Not everyone.

I've far more time for and interest in dominants who are not those types.

Why?

Because they've truly the mental headspace, time, and interest to create something magical in their relationships. My best Ds relationships and kink encounters are not with men who are career focused, in stereotypical 'leadership roles'. It's why I constantly question the alpha bullshit some seem fond of spouting.

I never understood the whole stigmatize a job thing. Yes, many people who work certain careers have similar personality traits that aren't everyone's cup of tea. However, that doesn't mean that all of them are that way. If anyone should be judged, it should be based on their actions, if at all. We should just be glad that they are working if they can, and as healthy as they can be if they aren't.

I don't judge a person by their job or their income, but I do ask about their job as one of my very first vetting questions. It gives me an instant snapshot into the person's inner landscape, what they are good at, whether they are more analytical or more empathic--all of that kind of thing. I have talked to plenty of people across the spectrum who had absolutely nothing going on upstairs, couldn't hold a conversation, and had no distinguishing individual personality to separate them as a unique person from every other dominant who is contacting me.

It's the same thing with grammar and punctuation. I'm a grammar nazi, but only for people who are professional writers and editors. I'm much more interested in the substance of what a person has to say regardless of whether they spelled everything correctly. Many people who can get all the grammar, punctuation, and spelling right can't string two words together when you ask them a simple question like, "What do you love about your job?"

Hmmm, what about a MH professional? Psychiatrist to be specific?
