At least you're not judgemental about it. Kinda interesting, though, in that the OP describes that she is looking for a "traditional" 50's style within an M/s dynamic. Dynamic you gotta have balance people do live more then one lifestyle. Not everyone had to live the same how they want to be with their partner. If you can find a partner with the same complimentary goals as you, you can build any sort of dynamic you want.
A "traditional" relationship is not something I personally would be interested in, as I have no interest in the traditional lifestyle. I will never have children, I will never marry any one of my partners, I enjoy cooking, and I have yet to meet anyone I share an attraction with who is more meticulous about cleanliness than I am. And, as shitty as it is to comment on the unspoken element, I seem to be appealing enough as a partner that I don't have to pay for my relationships, even in the traditional, unclarified manner. I will continue to do so until the white collar wage gap is verifiably extinct, but never out of necessity. There would simply be no way for a "traditional" partner to accrue enough equitable value for this kind of dynamic to work for me. |

I think in today's world, dressing as a Trad wife would actually be considered kinky. They would certainly stand out in public.
Trad lifestyles, like all lifestyles, take a lot of work to maintain and be successful at it. I disagree with Trad lifestyles being just window dressing for those afraid to delve deeply into kink, Ms or Ds, etc. What lifestyle is 100% kink? People have jobs, they have to grocery shop, they raise kids, they have to interact in a vanilla world, yadda, yadda. Who says a Trad wife can't wear a butt plug or dildo under their "window dressing"? Or a necklace for a collar. Who says the bedroom has to be vanilla? What goes on behind closed doors can vary greatly and still fulfill kink activities. A Trad wife can call her husband Sir anywhere that they are at without raising too many eyebrows. It's an accepted sign of respect most places. They can still write up a contract between themselves. Trad lifestyles ARE Ds related. No doubt about that. And there is a power exchange present. |
