I suppose there are. Definitely, early on; those intense sub-frenzied feelings were a bit overwhelming the first time I experienced them and I went into it really not knowing a whole lot, and blundered around a bit, probably annoying or scaring off a few possible potential partners. And if I did so back then, then I certainly do regret that. It was a learning curve for sure but I guess, I don't regret the personal growth that came out of the search.

I started in the lifestyle when I was 22. At around 24, I decided I wanted a family and I mistakenly thought that you couldn’t have a lifestyle relationship and raise a family. I married a completely vanilla man and I did okay for about 10 years. I 100% abstained from anything BDSM related, but I was so unhappy sexually and emotionally. I have since divorced and now I will not give a vanilla man the time of day.
If I had been more educated back then, I would have seen that you can have a balanced dynamic between vanilla daily life and the lifestyle. |

Sweetlydepraved: Absolutely you can have a vanilla and another lifestyle together. I'm proud to say I am living proof.
I have been a 24/7 live-in Femdom sub for years. My Dom made sure that our vanilla lives would be blended into our D/s lifestyle and it's worked great. About the only small glitch has been, after she added CFNM to our lifestyle, whenever someone stops by unannounced, I have to let her answer the door while I get dressed. My advice is not to rush into anything and be sure whoever the lucky man is that you choose is fully on board with your desires. It's like a broken record that everyone plays, but it's true - communication is the key. |
