Is this a kink or just D/s in general?

Is this a kink or just D/s in general?

One thing I've realized about myself in terms of D/s relationships is I love it when my sub shares her thoughts and feelings about our dynamic, relationship, play. I like it for several reasons, one is the level of trust in allowing me to know her intimate thoughts, it makes me feel close to her.
Another is how I can use the feedback to enhance the dynamic, increase control or maybe play...

Is this considered a kink or is it more a normal side of being Dominant? Curious to get others takes on it

From my own personal experiences it seems pretty common. Dominants are a curious bunch!

It is more a normal side of being dominant, but beyond that, it is, I think, a crucial communication between partners that is essential for ANY type of relationship.

Here I was thinking that might just be an autistic thing. The kinkiest relationship I ever had ultimately fell apart because I wanted to take their mind apart to see how it worked and really understand them, but they were very closed off emotionally and things fell apart. It's definitely something I need in a relationship though.

I don't know how, as a Dom, someone can NOT enjoy those conversations. Those conversations are the true intimacy, the pieces of a relationship that make all the other stuff possible. The depth is built from physical, emotional, and mental connections.

Yes there can be play sessions where the emotional is glossed over or where the mental connection doesn't truly exist. I get that. But different strokes for different folks....I can't engage without all three pieces
