This has been an interesting exchange. The first entry, I thought was from a Dominant wondering is such a thing was, at all, possible. As I read it was from a want-to-be submissive. The whole thing is very challenging from both perspectives, and intriguing. I am a submissive.

The final entry sums it all up as the story, "Pygmalion." with which many of us are more familiar with as "My Fair Lady, " so, yes with diligence and commitment this is very plausible, a welcome challenge to both parties.

Thanks for sharing.

Edd, the Pygmalion/My Fair Lady comparison is really interesting and honestly something I hadn’t thought of. That gets surprisingly close to what I was trying to describe, especially the idea that the transformation itself could be rewarding to both people.

And I appreciate hearing it from your perspective as a submissive. I think you are right that it would be an enormous challenge for both people. It would take a hell of a lot more than somebody simply liking the fantasy of being “remade.” There would have to be real commitment to the work on both sides.

That is actually why I asked. I could imagine the fantasy very easily. I was much more curious whether people had seen it work as an actual D/s dynamic.

Thank you. Your answer gave me another way of looking at it.

This may make me unpopular but I do enjoy the task of "raising the rest of a man"... however, you have to really show that you are ready for the work. Not *just* seeking the end result but truly ready for the painful steps you would have to take. That means accepting hard truths. That means you're willing to seek professional help for any underlying issues, whether that be health or mental illness... and of course full accountability.

Does it exist? Absolutely. Will it work? Up to you(r friend).

This is exactly the kind of perspective I was hoping someone would bring to the conversation.

When you say you enjoy the task of “raising the rest of a man,” that gets very close to what I was trying to describe, probably more cleanly than I managed to describe it myself.

And your point about actually being ready for the work makes complete sense. The fantasy of being transformed is easy. Being told an uncomfortable truth, changing a habit you have had for twenty years, doing something when you would rather be lazy, taking responsibility when you screw up, or getting professional help when something genuinely needs professional help is a very different thing.

I also appreciate you bringing up health and mental health. I would never want to suggest that a Domme should somehow replace a doctor, therapist, trainer or anybody else a person legitimately needs. And obviously none of what I’m describing works without consent and a tremendous amount of trust.

What fascinated me was what happens "around" those things. A Dominant setting standards, expecting accountability, training someone in the ways that matter to her and actually enjoying watching that person change under her influence.

So hearing you simply say, “Yes, I enjoy this,” is fascinating to me because that really was the question underneath all of my excessive pig language.

Thank you for answering it seriously. 🙏🏻

“raising the rest of the man” is an interesting turn of phrase. I liken it to experiences I have had in dynamics that fit well and bring out the best in me. The analogy of the sculptor and all that.

A fulfilling exchange, however played out, is uplifting.

My own personal growth under someone else’s guidance has had a lot to do with how I am on my own vs in a fulfilling exchange. It’s a slog to do it on my own.

As is common in life, my self perception, worth and care has been sub-par, so establishing a relationship with a suitably interested, invested and complementing individual just made me want to be the best for them. Pleasing someone I care about and feel seen by is highly motivating.

Training has a beginning, middle and end with a certificate of proficency to complete it, such as a doctor recieves.

No it isn't training, I believe it starts with the submissive/slave etc, and the Dominant Woman getting to know each other to check for mutual compatibility.

Where the s learns the Dominant woman's needs and does them when she asks.

Clearly kink compatibility is part of of a D/s or O/p etc, relationship, but it isn't the first priority.

The Op's posting style implies kink is first to him. That makes him incompatible with many Dominant Women. It means the op will need to attend fetish clubs and bottom in fetish play, and develop as a kinkster before his attitude to kink settles down.

A whole person talking about life to see if there is mutual comptiblility in life ethos and bigger-picture life stuff comes first.
Relationship daily needs second, with kink compatibility third.

Reassess your priorities. I think you solely seek play and I recommend enjoying that as a bottom at a fetish club.
