Sorry to see that happened to you, but in their defense, I saw your profile, and you look young in the photos, even "under-18" young.

Given laws and liability concerning minors sneaking onto "adult-subject-matter sites", verifying that you are indeed over 18 is a prudent ask.
If a minor managed to arrange a meet-up "and more" with an adult member of this or any social community, said adult would be assed out in court. "Not Knowing", better known as "ignorance" is not a viable defense. Depending on the jurisdiction, facilitating the meeting of a minor and adult which could include sexual activity can get a site or venue or what-have-you in hot water, too. Age verification greatly mitigates that risk for all concerned.

So, your profile is up and you're still a member so just move past the inconvenience.

When you hit 21 and if you want to go to bars and clubs, be ready for more of the same. It's all part of the fun of looking younger than your years.

Enjoy that while it lasts!

I get to have 42 candles on the cake come November. Gray hair and a prune face get closer and closer to a mirror near me every day.

I could say the same thing icon_smile.gif

You look ... definitely younger than 20. Don't let it get to ya. You'll run into this anywhere or anytime you come across something that's not for minors.

Some places more than others. Years.. or decades ago now I went to a few games at Fenway Park and going past the vendors who sell their expensive and well-watered beer there is a sign stating that they card everyone .

That meant even if Methuselah himself were still around and decided to take in a game and needed to wet his whistle, they'd card his shriveled up ass, too.

Thanks for the compliment. The prune face and gray hair ain't here yet but before I know it, one fine day I'll get up, shuffle to the bathroom, peer into the looking glass and voila! Instant Halloween!

The other day, I had a few pictures of mine taken down, with the same note.

Those pictures were of my dead infant daughter, and me when I was about 4.

The regulations governing adult sites has become a noose about the neck of site administrators and they could go to jail for a VERY long time if they aren't followed. WE could go to jail just for being here and "allowing" it to happen...

So as annoying as it is, it's nothing personal.

You are not alone in this. I recently had a photo removed from my blog that looked like a cartoon, simply because some of my older photos look young. I understand platforms are just doing their job to ensure safety; I have even had to verify my identity on other sites before.

To help with this, I decided to grow out my hair to show some silver and gray. While some people naturally look young, we unfortunately have to prove we are adults. Adjusting how I dress and wear makeup has also helped. Once I got silver in my hair, I stopped being mistaken for a child and no longer get carded.

I know this situation can cause worry but try not to focus on it. Take a deep breath, present yourself maturely, and just be yourself. Things will be fine. I remember being 21 and being told I was too young to be on a platform. Since you are over 18, you just have to keep going and not let it affect you.

These strict measures are due to state and country laws rather than the sites themselves. Because underage users sometimes use their parents' cards, platforms must verify identities through behavior and photos to keep everyone safe from bad actors.
