Blackmail

The recent post talking a bit about blackmail got me to thinking about the subject.

Can it really be a tool and/or kink within the lifestyle?

"Normal" blackmail is, of course, illegal and immoral as it should be. It is non consensual and forces the victims to act in ways they would not normally, with no sense of satisfaction.

Now there are those who do play with a consensual blackmail kink. I do not begrudge them that, to each their own. But what I don't understand is how there is a loss of power when they know there is no real threat. Is it a fake stimulus, or something like that? Are there really any kind of repercussions if the victim fails to preform under the threat?

Help me out here.

It’s a slippery slope edge play. My former Master from 2015 was a pro at psychological edge play. He was able to fake me out just enough to where I thought he might actually go through with things. I had just enough doubt about would he or wouldn’t he that he could fuck with me.

He never did any of the “bad” things, but I sure as fuck thought he might.

The conversation about what constitutes a kink has been going on forever. I agree with you - to each their own.
As to your question, I have no idea why edge play works, blackmail or any other type. I do know how it works from my perspective, and mindfuckery is one of my very favorites, but I accepted along time ago that I can never truly understand the way a sub thinks and feels. I am eternally thankful that they do think and feel those ways, but I don't bother anymore trying to sort out the why. I figure it doesn't matter whether or not it makes sense to me, as long as the dynamic works and everyone is happy.

I Throughly get the idea of predicament bondage and mind fucks. Things like breath play and knife play can be very dangerous if the D type does not know what they are doing.

I don't see kink blackmail as the same. One would have to cross over into actual blackmail for the threat to be close to dangerous. Does the victim believe that line really could be crossed?

The loss of power an illusion in many dynamics. Slavery contracts which i have used are also illusionary and I don't see too much of a difference between that and illusion of a blackmail agreement. I could even see someone finding a blackmail situation as less of an illusion than a slavery contract.

Some subs do want the very real outcomes from breaking the contract. I’ve been asked to write up agreements that had the intention to be taken to the notary. That was more than I could handle myself, too much responsibility on my end either the possibility of actual court/police involvement. This is a kink that I do fail to understand myself as well.

Notaries don't give a shit what is in the paper they are fixing their seal to. They only care about you being you and that is your signature.

Any moron who tries to get a court of law to enforce a BDSM contract is more likely to end up in jail than winning that case.
