@ Bunnie - omg Johnathan Livingston Seagull!! Haven't thought of that book in years. One of my treasures from teenhood. They botched the movie but boy I'll second this recommendation.

Wow thats so hard, just one! Its stuffy seeming but A Farewell to Arms. The Great Gatsby, Lolita, and ofc The Catcher in the Rye (oooh! and Ham on Rye) Brideshead revisted ( or Black Mischief- same author)
