It was a deragatory term and indicated that they weren't "serious " lesbians.

Switches in the BDSM community found themselves without partners once the word spread.

Being a switch just recently caught fire because of sheer numbers has grown more acceptable- but that is regional at best.


Just last week I had the "I don't understand bisexuality " talk.

Thank you for your thoughtful response, I think that's really the aim in all this that we do. Kink is a lot of different things, and although we may have different affiliations or tribes the very fact that we all prefer to live at least a portion of lives outside the mainstream makes us a community, brothers and sisters from other mothers as it were, I think.

I was apparently extremely fortunate, when I entered the Lifestyle (a long, long, long time ago, kids!), the folks I played with were all pretty crazy. Although most were more comfortable in a self-designated role, almost everyone dug my switchedness. Except Bad Dom, and he was just a jerk in general.

Anyway, I like seeing this discourse among us all. We all have something we can bring to our community of different tribes and preferences (yes, even some of you grumpy Dom fellows...said affectionately). Let's keep the lines of communication open, it's okay to disagree, or not get someone else's likes/dislikes, but let's keep talking about it. It's important and we all need, want, or can use some kind of support and affirmation I think!

I completely agree.

It's not about surrounding yourself with "yes folks".

Being able to respectfully disagree makes conversations more candid.

Very kind of you, I enjoy reading your take on things very much.

Must admit though, I can be a bit dense at times but I totally didn't take you for a masochist...you must have at least some tendency for it if you look forward to reading my posts! Totally entirely too verbose and an utter inability to be concise, which is somewhat embarrassing because in nilla land I do technical writing and editing. ; -)

I have an off sense of humor, I was just being silly! I totally get the multiple side thing!!! Absolutely, unequivocally! I think most folks do have a wide variety of kinks that can appeal to them depending on their life situation at the moment, the present partner (or lack of one), and just where they are in life in general. Keeps things interesting, I'd say!
