Never watched the movies because I found the books incredibly underwhelming. The writing was subpar and redundant.

Read the books and also watched the movies. Hmn I can't really remember the whole content as I watched it a few years back.
But I do remember thinking at that moment if people ever want recommendations for porn material, it would be a great one duh(porn was always a turn off for me except that movie maybe) .
And as for why it's famous forbidden things always attracts. But I do have to admit it was one of the turning points that gave me a clear hint about my nature. And later I did realize that the way it potrayed BDSM isn't accurate. As for romance aspects ...yeah it's nice (but in dreams and imaginations).
And lastly in my opinion this series aren't really worth the time.

Although most use this as a result to come into contact with the BDSM lifestyle, I'm not 1 of them...

I'm very picky when looking at movies and reading books. And << 50 Shades of Grey >> didn't catch my attention.

I stumbled into this lifestyle after reading << Brie's Submission >> after the 1st 2 books I wanted to know everything there was about this lifestyle. It was very intriguing and peaked my interest. Currently I'm on book 5, and still enjoying it tremendously.

Plot wise it was fine, but not the most accurate depiction of a true consenting arrangement. It was good exposure for the community though I believe, even if it wasn't fairly accurate.
