I have read briefly on the internet that it has its roots in the military but I would like to know more about it from someone who lives it or adheres to it. Thank you!

Now there is a term I have not heard of in a long time - "Old Guard" i must be careful here or I will date my self.
I understand the old guard as honorifics. Sir, Ma'am even in type. submissives would have all been in lowercase. Don't have a clue if it is the same I have been out of the loop for 20+ years (recently widowed) so forgive my ignorance. Words prefaced by their title and then name. ie: Master Name, Mistress Name.
As TopekaDom mentioned some would probably find it abusive so it all depends on the people involved. I myself prefer the honorifics and the discipline, it keeps me grounded.

And this is my first post do i ask for mercy icon_smile.gif
