I'd suggest a suede leather (genuine) tailed flogger for all around use. If you want harder thugs and bruises on top of redness, look for a rawhide type leather flogger with heavier wider tails....Those can do real damage in a strong hand, but the thuds can also be hypnotic. And yes, AVOID at all costs those cheapies made of some imitation crap.
