I have never been placed in a cage, either to be displayed in a public space or hidden, as though to be forgotten

To be treated as one would treat an animal, being able to control what the animal eats or doesn't eat, drink or doesn't drink, to give the animal no place to run, to hide, to be hurt, abused at will, for maybe no reason, but the impulse of the my master. To be presented to others for their amusement. To be treated as a caged beast, to be broken by neglect.
