sub book club: Conquer Me

Today is the day for all our book club friends to start talking!!!

Our book this month was Conquer me by Kacie Cunningham.

Questions for everyone (no matter how much you read)…
1- Do you think the Doms chose well for us???
2- Where did you find your copy of the book?
3- What section spoke to you most?
4- Was there something you learned from the book?
5- Did you feel represented in these pages as a sub?
6- What disappointed you?
7- What made you smile?
8- Did anything portrayed in the book feel unsafe, unethical or unwise to you?
9. Would you recommend this book to other subs?
10. What other books should be on the sub book club list of possible reads? (Come on y’all I need ideas!!!)

Answer as many or as few of the questions as you like.
Ask questions of your own.

I can’t wait to see what y’all thought of this one. 🤗🤗🤗

Most relatable quote: "You've got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down." - Ray Bradbury (but it was mentioned in the book.)

I like this acknowledgement of how completely unhinged it can feel to be on this journey growing and learning as you go. How many times have I felt my jerry rigged wings might be too fragile for this fall? Sooo many. And then at the same time, it feels like soaring to highest highs… it brings to mind Icarus… will I get too close to the sun and get burned?

Anyway, this definitely spoke to me.

Also, the topic of being needy came up. It can be a trigger for me to be told I am needy. I have embraced the philosophy that everyone has needs and they are either met or unmet. It is validating to know other subs and Doms struggle with that notion of neediness too.

1- Do you think the Doms chose well for us???
Yes I loved it!

2- Where did you find your copy of the book?
Kindle

3- What section spoke to you most?
The Conquer Me chapter.

4- Was there something you learned from the book?

Yes I learned that I’m an obedience-oriented submissive. I also learned to remind myself that even when my Dom refuses a request I make, I’m still getting what I ultimately want - his dominance over me.

5- Did you feel represented in these pages as a sub?

Yes very much so.

7- What made you smile?
The times she references “The Voice”.

I wrote my own more thorough review in my blog if anyone is interested.

I’m so glad you loved it. I love your review!!

Also, the part about ultimately getting what you want when you are denied stood out to me in the book as well. It was well put.

Plus, the pancake thing made me laugh.
