That's the go-to for a lot of today's expressions.
FWB only ends badly when either side forgets the "Friends" part and start trying to go to a next level that is not offered. I have and still have a few decent FWB deals going.. Went/is going well in that they remain friends even though the "benefits" are closed for the foreseeable future. Working on that "pure and innocent" look. |

For me, FWB covers infinite dynamics between a one and done hook up and committed relationship.
i want the latter, but in the absence of opportunity, a FWB can be an ongoing relationship that doesn't reach the criteria of an all in relationship. Oversimplifying, i see us all as a box of puzzle pieces and life is about trying to fit those pieces together into a cohesive picture. Relationship can happen when some of our pieces fit with anothers. If enough of the mutually important pieces fit together ('committed relationship'), we have more of a picture than if just a few ('FWB'). For me, a FWB can be a stop gap relationship for both, for some it suffices for their total relationship needs/desires. i see infinite variation, so i think communication is still key. |
