Tagging members in forum posts

The usual method of tagging someone in posts does not appear to function here--- (as in, for example, @joeblow) would invoke a drop-down menu leading to options which also serve the "tag-ee" notification that they have been tagged of course.

While there might be other tagging systems, this is the only one I have ever used --on other sites where it's a common practice such as Fartbook, etc.

So---- (I'm semi-sure that some Cage admin or even a mere staff geek will chime in eventually to "speak" on tagging and site policy) --in a nutsack, my guess would be "No".

Of course one can get the attention of another on these just by using the @busyballs (again an example, another one which I am fairly confident is not anyone's username in here) ---bit, but as a functional "tag"-- No Dice.

Oh, and one last thought on this from my otherwise idle mind which I won't currently allow to become the Devil's Workshop: I noticed that the "Sticky" function doesn't work, either. They use "Sticky" on the "Welcome to the Cage" thread but that sticky doesn't stay stuck to the top of the forum section.

--- Bleahh... No I do not have the digital version of cotton-mouth.---

---------------------------------------------------

... my three cents only: Further posts may clarify or correct my guess.

You would be surprised. I have seen some doozies on here.

uhh yeah... I need something like that to happen like a hole in the head... Thanx for the heads up.

So, without further ado:

@Joeblow and @Busyballs: If these are your usernames I apologize.

My use of your unique and highly engaging usernames was purely coincidental. Any seeming reference to real persons, living, dead, or undead is purely coincidental.

At the bottom of our profiles is a members access button that links to a list of all our forum posts and comments.

If tagging isn’t possible, then you might consider posting on the threads you wish them to read, and the link on your list will take then directly to your comment on the post.

If you read the rules about blogging (I know you asked about forums, just work with me here), Cage is not really hip with that unless the tagee is in full agreement and with prior notice. Now I don't know if the such a thing was mentioned for forum posts or not, but it seems reasonable that Cage would feel the same way about such posts. That may be a reason why such a feature does not exist here.
