Why is this the onlynpkace within the community that doesn't automatically remove blocked ppl from being seen and able to see me?

The prime reason is that we worry that some people will be tempted to block other people and then write about them in their blogs or profile. Another reason is that this is not 100% effective when people use multiple accounts, so the sense of privacy is maybe a little misleading.

Having said that we're gradually changing the visibility of blocked/blocking users so they don't appear in the online now anymore, you won't see their likes, and in their profiles you won't see when they have last visited. etc. so we're maybe on the way there. still contemplating.

In addition, this site is accessible to the general public without logging in. Anyone and everyone can see everything written in blogs and forum threads. So, blocking is definitely no substitute for good old fashioned horse sense online.

Of course, one cannot "like" posts or write anything if not logged in but if a real sack of shit wants to keep tabs on one who blocked them... they can. Only profiles are unavailable if a given member ticks the "Profile Visible to Registered Users Only" box. But as the Chief Site Geek pointed out, a slime can register a burner account and stalk til the cows come home.

Just don't volunteer excess personal shit anywhere online. I sure as hell don't.
