Personals title adjustment

I've had a little bit of cognitive dissonance when looking at the list of Personals sections here, and I finally realized why. All of them are titles some form of " [role] [ gender] seeking [role] [gender] " except for the very last one, which is called "Transgenders Board". I have a few observations about this:
* "Transgenders" generally isn't considered to be an inclusive, welcoming term to transgender people. It's a grammatical issue that involves using an adjective as a noun, and can be considered dehumanizing when referring to people. Please see the references below: https://www.glaad.org/reference/transgender https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/how-to-use-the-word-transgender_us_58b6ed0fe4b060480e0db6b5 https://www.dailydot.com/irl/guide-to-covering-transgender-people/ http://www.basicrights.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Trans-Media-Reference.pdf * "Transgenders Board" makes it sound like a discussion group, rather than a personals listing. Perhaps titling it "Seeking Trans / Trans Seeking" would help smooth it out a bit, and make it look a bit more consistent with the other personals section titles. I know that it's just an issue of titling a sub-section of the website, but a little respect goes a long way. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. |
