New to The Cage...

Hey folks,

I just joined The Cage after slating my FetLife account for deletion. The scene over there is just too toxic for my tastes, and Gemini recommended this place as an alternative where the culture is a little more grounded and reflective. I'm hoping that proves to be the case. I'm mainly here to read, learn and discuss, but I'm also open to meeting cool people who mesh with what I'm looking for.

I dabbled in kink in my early 20's when I first became sexually active, but I had neither the vocabulary, the context, nor the previous experience to recognize my desires as being "kinky." To me, I was just doing the things that all adults do behind closed doors when they want to have fun with their partners and had no awareness of the "kinky/vanilla" distinction. But after a significant dry spell, I've only just recently begun exploring kink and BDSM more deliberately.

I'm not too crazy about labels in general and view my desires as fairly fluid and instinctual; but, if I had to describe myself using the lingo of "the Scene." you could probably describe me as a soft dom-leaning Primal Switch and a bit of a Sensual Hedonist. Not knocking anyone... Different strokes and all that crap, but Fet has always leaned more towards hooking up than here. I hope you find this place to better suit your personal tastes.

Don't forget to "introduce" yourself on the thread by the same name if you haven't already. They used to have a "sticky" on it but now you'll have to scroll a little to find it.--- That is if you want to.

Hey Miki, thanks for the reply. It was actually a mod post in that exact sticky that redirected me here. The last post in there is from 8 months ago and the whole thread seems to be locked down, but I appreciate the suggestion.

I meant to emphasize that the Introduce Yourself thread used to be a "sticky" . They probably let it drop due to lack of use.

This place has changed a bit since I signed up but it's still a good place for conversation, etc. without the hook-up emphasis of some other sites. Instead they have the "Seeking" feature for those so inclined to post what they're looking for on their profiles. "Seeking" replaced the former "Personals" section.
